Overview
Design a dental clinic website that transforms visitor apprehension into trust and confidence, ultimately converting hesitant web browsers into scheduled patients.
Many people will use search engines to find a dentist; these users will access the website of a dental clinic to learn more about them. It is very common for individuals to be a bit apprehensive towards dentists and seeking care. A well-designed website can help cultivate feelings of trust and help build the relationship between patients and providers.
Overall, this challenge focuses on the human element of healthcare marketing, where the website becomes a crucial first touchpoint in building the patient-provider relationship.
Create a homepage design that is concise and informative and allows for a calming visual experience with softer, recognizable color palettes.
Create sections that shows community surrounding clinic, such as highlighting clinic's mission statement and staff's personality showcase.

Research
User Interviews
User interviews were first conducted to get a glimpse into the natural patient journey. Questions allowed for insights on initial search behavior, decision-making factors, website interaction expectations, booking preferences, and underlying emotional considerations influencing the process.
Empathy Mapping
Based on the user interviews, empathy mapping was used to identify areas of value for users. These areas inspired content on the landing page.

Overall Findings
Design
In the design page, a low-fidelity wireframe was created for a desktop platform. Body copy was also created for website. Upon approval from project advisor, a high-fidelity wireframe was created.

A style guide was also created.

Takeaways
Design in healthcare
This project requires empathy-driven design where visual choices directly impact emotions, content, and design work. Learning how to balance professional credibility with approachability is crucial. Success can be measured by reduced anxiety alongside conversions.
Accessibility includes emotional accessibility
Taking into consideration emotional barriers that may be experienced by users, designing to reduce overwhelming layouts, aggressive calls-to-action, and utilizing warmer, familiar colors, may allow users to feel more comforted and build trust in their providers.
